Working with the education sector and the creative industries in Northern Ireland, Nerve Belfast are committed to promoting and developing the effective use of ICT in teaching and learning. It provides opportunities for training, in-school and community programmes in a wide range of multi-media areas including film making, animation, web-design, games design, music technology, programming, 3D design and fabrication.
Alongside the Nerve Centre in Derry~Londonderry and Armagh’s AmmA Centre, Nerve Belfast CLC provides a range of training, innovative programmes and support exploring the educational benefits of the creative use of digital media technologies across the Northern Ireland curriculum and UICT assessment. Nerve Belfast also works with young people and community leaders throughout Belfast and surrounding areas.
The two-year school partnership programme which aims to develop a tailor made training package for schools forms the backbone of Nerve Belfast’s work. Partnership schools benefit from an allocation of support, technical advice and training throughout the academic year aimed at training teachers, providing in-class support and raising the creative use of ICT across the entire school community.
Nerve Belfast also provides bespoke workshops ranging from yearlong accredited courses such as MIA, Creative iMedia to one of workshops. These include use of mobile technology in the classroom (iPads), animation, filmmaking, games design and introduction to programming.
