At the Ulster Museum you will come face to face with dinosaurs, meet an Egyptian Mummy and see modern masterpieces with a visit to the Ulster Museum. As Northern Ireland’s treasure house of the past and present, the museum is home to a rich collection of art, history and natural sciences and free to all visitors. From Ireland to the South Pacific, ancient relics to hands on activities, the museum offers something for everyone from the simply curious to the enthusiast. The Ulster Folk & Transport Museum stands in 177 acres and is one of Northern Ireland’s foremost visitor attractions, capturing a disappearing way of life, preserving traditional skills and celebrating transport history. Here you will step back in time in and uncover a way of life from 100 years ago. Discover cottages, farms, schools and shops as you wander through the beautiful parkland of the Folk Museum chatting to costumed visitor guides demonstrating traditional crafts. Climb on and off majestic steam locomotives or experience the sensation of flight in the Transport Museum bursting with horse drawn carriages, electric trams, motorbikes, fire-engines and vintage cars.

The story of that earlier emigration is brought to life at the Ulster American Folk Park. When you visit, you can enhance your experience by taking part in our specially created educational programmes. These are derived from the main themes of the museum and are usually based in and around the traditional buildings and associated exhibitions. Here you will mmerse yourself in the world famous story of Irish emigration at the museum that brings it to life. Follow the emigrant trail as you journey from the thatched cottages of Ulster, on board a full scale emigrant sailing ship leading to the log cabins of the American Frontier. Meet an array of costumed characters on your way with traditional crafts to show, tales to tell and food to share.

The Armagh County Museum is the oldest county museum in Ireland. it is set in Armagh’s beautiful Georgian tree lined Mall. Its collections capture centuries of stories relating to the people who lived, worked and had connections with this famous city and historic county.
