Lily’s Driftwood Bay Nominated for BAFTA Children’s Award


The animation series is among prestigious list of nominees in the Pre-School Animation category

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced the nominations for the 20th British Academy Children’s Awards, which honour the very best in children’s media. Lily’s Driftwood Bay from Belfast based Sixteen South is among the prestigious list of nominees.

Lily’s Driftwood Bay is up against The Clangers, Hey Duggee and Peppa Pig in the Pre-School Animation category.

Set on the fictional, rugged Island of Arranish, Lily’s Driftwood Bay is an animation series about a little girl who creates an imaginary world from treasures she finds washed up on the beach. The series received funding from the Northern Ireland Screen Fund supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The BAFTA Children’s Awards ceremony will be held at the Roundhouse, London, on Sunday 22nd November and will be hosted by Doc Brown.

Lily's Driftwood Bay also took home the IFTA TV Award last night, Thursday 22nd October, for Best Animation.
