Honeycomb Creative Works is now inviting applications for two award categories of its Honeypot dedicated seed fund. The fund is aimed at companies and freelancers involved in film, broadcasting, animation, games development, interactive media and music technologies with ideas for using digital content in sectors such as health, tourism and big data.

The Cog Award is targeted at new ideas/projects that are at the very first stage of development (Pre-Proof of Concept). Cog is designed to help digital content freelancers/companies demonstrate the commercial potential of a new concept, technology or invention and to highlight the need for and the type of additional development support that would be required. Eligible projects will have funding requirements of up to £2,500.
This award will allow budding digital content creators to get their innovative ideas off the ground!
The Create Award is targeted at existing ideas/projects that require additional support to take them to the next level (Proof of Concept). Create is designed to help digital content freelancers/companies to further establish the commercial potential of a concept and more fully develop and test their ideas. Eligible projects will have funding requirements of up to £5,000.
The Captivate Award will be released in Autumn 2014 and eligible projects will have funding requirements of up to £15,000.
Award recipients must be located with the eligible INTERREG IVA Region:
• NI, excluding greater Belfast.
• Six border counties of the Republic of Ireland – Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Louth, Monaghan and Sligo.
• Western seaboard of Scotland – Lochaber; Skye & Lochaish; Arran & Cumbarae; Argyll & Bute; East Ayshire & North Ayrshire Mainland; South Ayrshire; Dumfries & Galloway.
