Belfast Photo Festival has commenced its open submission round for 2015, with artists and photographers able to submit up to ten photographs for consideration.
Successful entrants will be given the opportunity to exhibit their work in the main festival gallery alongside some of the biggest names in the field, and a select group having their work published in the arts magazine Abridged. Winners will also be eligible for a number of awards, including a cash prize of £1,000.
The theme for submissions has been left open to remove any restrictions. Submissions must be photographic or lens-based but can include incorporations of other art forms – performance, painting, sculpture, music, literature et cetera – with the photographic medium.
Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply. Individuals should enter between two and six photographs from a particular series or body of work or a single PDF of their photo-book. Collectives are also welcome to apply, and can submit up to ten photographs.
This year the open submission will be hosted by charity arts publication and employment resource, IdeasTap. All submissions must be made via IdeasTap.com. Entrants should ensure that they follow the outlined guidelines and terms and conditions carefully, otherwise submissions may not be valid.
Entrants will be charged a £15 handling fee, which directly contributes to the organisation and delivery of the festival for the benefit of all participants. Belfast Photo Festival is a charitable non-profit organisation.
The deadline for submissions is March 6, 2015.
